NSW B 8 – the closest alternative to NSW 88?

Ok team – here at Signature Plates Australia, we look at Signature Plates as being far more than number replicas given the strength of the Heritage market at the top end, but when it comes to B 8, even we must admit how much it resembles the mighty 88 plate, arguable the best 2 digit heritage plate money can buy.

In Victoria, the highest selling double repeating 3 character plate, and 88 plate in the NNL/LNN range was 88B, which we sold for $34K just over 12 months ago. That sale told us about a small but passionate subset of the number plate market that are willing invest big into the right number replica in the Signature Plate market – especially given something like 88 being worth in the 7 figures in Australia’s biggest number plate markets.

Originally purchased from Service NSW in 1990, B 8 has been proudly owned by the same family for 34 years, and an upgrade in Mercedes and replacement of the plate gave the owners a second wind by creating an Instagram page exists dedicated to this fine number plate. Very exciting folks.

NSW FF selling for $42K recently and NSW EE selling for $85K during a strong market period, there is a strong appetite for 2 character NSW Signature Plates, and we are excited to see how this performs. Excellent.
